It’s been a month since I last wrote a blog. Time has really flied and just so many things happened, well not much, but exciting things. At last I got a job!!! I’m happy that I finally could earn some £££ but not too happy about the job. I was hoping more of an office job rather in a restaurant. But told myself to take this as an experience and let’s see how this goes. I’m currently working in a food court unit, for a Carribean restaurant, called Rhythm Kitchen.
From Sept 1st, we had training in Acton Central, about 40 mins from my place for a week. The restaurant will open together with the opening of Westfield mall in Stratford. So yes, I walk to work 🙂
The mall opened on Sept 13th, it’s not as big as Megamall in KL, but big enough. This is supposed to be the biggest mall in Europe. But anyway, the opening was good, I couldn’t say great because I was out 😦 buying stuff for the restaurant. Nicole Schezinger performed and actually had a group photos with our restaurant staffs, and I was NOT there!!!! Boris Johnson, the mayor of London was there too. Right after the opening ceremony, we quickly clean up and get ready.
At 12 o’clock, the crowds were crowding the food court area. We were literally hammered by the crowd, non stop action from 12 o’clock till at night. It was so busy. I really had great fun working with customers and every staffs in the restaurant unit.
Before my first day of work, my manager put me as training supervisor, I was very happy and grateful for the opportunity. We had a chat and I was in good books with him, so my manager liked the way I work and told me to learn as much as I can, and he will be able to promote me as supervisor in a month time. I thought that was really fast!
It’s tiring physically, as I had to stock up the drinks, clean the area, train new staff, but nevertheless I really had great fun. Not sure how long I would stay in this job, but I really love the experience. Can’t wait what God has installed for me!
